thanksgiving hip hop

happy happy thanksgiving!!  i am feeling pretty thankful that we didn't have school yesterday so i was able to get some scrapbooking tine in.  my oldest is a senior this year and will be graduating so i need to get my scrap on in a MAJOR WAY.  this layout was fun to do and looking back, it is what really started the onslaught of her recruiting ride.  at present, megan is being actively recruited by over 30 schools.  how exciting and CRAZY is that?!  when i was recruited for soccer (like mother, like daughter), i took the first offer and was all like, "woo hoo, let's go!"  today it is a whole other process.  we go on college visits and meet with coaches and talk soccer shop and listen to all the things they can do for her. and did you know that colleges now ROCK?!  i went to a private school but it seems like the ghetto now.  i mean in one school, they had starbucks and papa john's pizza as part of their MEAL PLAN!! and free laundry!!!  do you remember how hard it was to scrounge around to find quarters?!  and the facilities are amazing.  it is really neat to see.  again, i am also thankful that megan's hard work and sacrifice are paying off (in 1st grade we call this "making a connection" to my opening blog post.. :)

(all stamps from the latest S.M.A.K. kit)

here is the latest college visit pic and a front runner:  culver-stockton college in missouri

so in between your thanksgiving feast and holiday shopping (unity's "brown thursday sale" is uh-mazing!), don't forget this:

happy hip hop!

i can't believe it is july!  the weather here has been crappy.  lots of rain and clouds.  we have only been to the pool FOUR TIMES! :(  that is unheard of (and unacceptable because I am a teacher and have the summer's off).  the only upside is i got a little more scrapping in.  proof:

don't forget to stop by all of the blogs and leave a comments for a chance to win some unity goodness!

happy almost 4th of july!

hey there hip hop!!

happy hip hop everyone!  as i get ready to take photos for out wacked out christmas card, i was inspired to put up this fun family layout (using SMAK stamps).  i just love documenting out family's unique tradition and behaviors.  when the photo below was taken (by the amusement park worker), the guy said it waS a first for him...he had never taken a photo of a family "like this" before.  music to my ears!!

Hip Hop Thursday SMAKdown!

It seems I may sound like a broken record, but I love me some SMAK stamps!  I am strictly a scrapbooker and I am here to testify that you can use these stamps over and over again on all sorts of layouts and project life pages.  Over. And. Over. Again.  Seriously.  It's a great investment.  Plus you don't have to shop around or leave your house.  it just comes automatically to you mailbox each and EVERY month! You just can't beat that with a stick, now can you?!
Here is a peek at this month's(June 2-14) kit:

Because I like to mix and match my smack kits, I also included stamps from the January SMAk kit, December 2013 SMAK kit,  and March SMAK kit as well.  The circles in the bottom right  came from the Layers of Life.

Pattern Paper used for both layouts:  The Paper Studio

saturday SMAKin'!

well hello, SMAK kit! of all my stamps, you are my favorite! see here:

my oldest started high school this year. i immediately thought of all the graduation parties i have ever attended. i figured that it would be oh-so-very-wrong to put up cheesey posters of pictures for my kid's party. so i am, for once, ahead of he game and creating project life style ablums for megan's high school years. i am ALSO going back and doing books for her (and all my kids) childhood. AWESOME!

the SMAK kits are the perfect stamps for this type of project!

this month's kit:

have a super saturday! ;)

the story of the SMAK kit.

i am pretty sure that the unity SMAK kit is the best thing EVER.  ev-eeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. the end.
